Macramé is an ancient art brought to Portugal by the Arabs in the 7th century. Inspired by this ancient art, certified Macramé artisan Cláudia loves to share the knowledge she has been acquiring since she started her journey and the creation of her own Macramé brand „KlauCrafts“.

During Cláudia’s Macramé Workshop "Ocean Keychain" in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Portugal, you learn the basic knots of handcrafted Macramé using 100% Portuguese nautical thread.

You gonna make a Macramé keychain which you can use everywhere. You can choose a fish or a boat as design. It is an accessory crafted with your own energy and therefore very special.

You work with your fingers:
The threads are crossed and are trapped by knots making several beautiful patterns. The breath finds its rhythm and you gonna smile, relax and connect to your mindful practice and creativity.

Cláudia's atelier is very bright, has a view of nature and is quiet. The entire space is energized with plants and natural elements. While you create your unique Macramé piece of art, you can help yourself with homemade oatmeal muffins accompanied by tea, coffee or beer.

Yes, Macrame is a form of art therapy!

I found Macrame and Cláudia in a period of my life when I needed to work on my anxiety.
Claudia conveyed early on that knots had different meanings.
Focusing on the task at hand helped me to calm my mind.
In classes and workshops Cláudia conveyed calm, peace and positive energy.
It helped me to develop my creativity.
Whenever I thought it wasn't going well, Cláudia asked me to stop, relax and then I saw the project with different eyes.
Macramé is very spiritual, together with a teacher like Cláudia it is fantastic therapy.
Thank you Claudia

Macrame and Mindfulness!

Learning Macrame with Cláudia is also about enjoying and relaxing. You reach an introspective and zen state, vital for our mind in an extremely stressful society. The workshops are very enriching and allow not only to make beautiful artworks, but also to share knowledge and get to know each other. Thanks, Cláudia :)

A funny story about Macramé.

I have a very funny story to tell about Macramé.
I came across a Macramé class with instructor Cláudia. I was curious and went to see it, but I had already convinced myself that it wasn't for my patience. Talking to the trainer she convinced me to try it. That same day at night I sent her a message asking when I could start. I was so excited about what I learned and the work I had done that I booked 2 classes a week. I have a very demanding profession and for me there is nothing better than Macrame due to the energy transmitted to me by the excellent trainer Cláudia. The Ocean Workshop was an extension of this energy and good mood. In 3.5H I made a little fish! I just want to thank you for your help and dedication with your commitment, thank you very much
