Durante el Taller de Pintura de Azulejos de Daniela en Oporto, Portugal, aprenderá sobre la historia de los azulejos portugueses, cómo adquirieron su importancia entre el pueblo portugués, qué colores se utilizaban principalmente y cuáles eran y siguen siendo hoy en día los lugares de atracción más visitados.

En la segunda parte, podrá ponerse manos a la obra y pintar su propio azulejo, que podrá llevarse a casa al final del Taller de pintura de azulejos.

Sobre la artista:

Daniela Morgada aka LUZITA ha estado trabajando como ceramista desde 2019.

En su momento decidió tomar un curso de cerámica e inmediatamente se enamoró del material y la artesanía. Desde entonces ha tenido sus propios proyectos pero sobre todo se ha centrado en lámparas.

¿Por qué? Porque a Daniela le encantan las piezas grandes y las lámparas se lo permiten.

En 2021, finalmente abrió su propio estudio de cerámica y desde entonces es capaz de albergar talleres, tanto en cerámica y pintura de azulejos.

Le encanta recibir gente en su estudio y compartir sus conocimientos. Algunos de sus alumnos se han convertido en ceramistas. Esto hace muy feliz a Daniela.

Tile painting at its best

Excellent tile painting workshop led by Daniela who is very skilled in leading us into the history and steps to create our individual tile painting. I was with four others, an ideal group of friendly individuals from the U.S. and from India. Daniela makes sure we understood each step and then quickly got us started with painting the tile. Allow at least 2 hours—we were all so absorbed in our painting the time flew by. She uses acrylic paints and applies a final glaze so that we can take home the finished tile and skip the firing process. I recommend this tile painting workshop without hesitation. It is a wonderful way to learn about the role of tiles in Portuguese history, and why these tiles remain so important. The tiles you see in the country take on greater relevance by doing this workshop. Sign up as soon as you make plans to visit Porto!
