Die sogenannten Geschichten der "Imaginary of the Sea".

Lovely Workshop/Class

Last year we stopped by Marina’s workshop and picked up a few pieces but when planning our trip for this year we knew we wanted to take a class with her. She’s very patient and is a master at providing just the right amount of handholding while letting you play with and learn the techniques. We will for sure be back next year!

Great and fun workshop!

The workshop was great! It was my first time working with clay, but Marina designed the workshop in such a way that it was no problem at all. She showed me very patiently and in detail how everything works and how I can implement my own ideas. It was super fun, I will definitely come back when I am on Santa Maria again!

The best creative ceramics workshop ever!

I have been taking ceramics classes with Marina Mendonça since 2020 and it is the best investment I ever made.
First she teaches you the basics: the different techniques, the materials, how different clays behave under different circumstances and all the variables that can influence the process of creating ceramic pieces.
Once you have that on lock, she lets you spread your creative wings and make the pieces you want. Nothing is impossible, she always finds a way to guide you throwghout the creating process, from the conception until the finished glazed piece.
Working with Marina is inspiring, she is such a great artist and teacher. In short, I highly recommend this workshop!

Enriching and fun experience

I had never had contact with ceramics before participating in Marina Mendonça's workshop in 2020.
From the first moment I identified with clay, because when I handled it I felt calm and concentrated, as if in meditation.
Marina is a great mentor with immense experience in the area.
I advise you to enroll in the pottery workshop because it will be an enriching experience and you will take with you unique pieces made by you, and who knows, maybe discover a new hobby.

She is a very attentive craftswoman and master who is able to see the potential of each person specifically, directing the work and questions to the interest of each one.

Ceramics with Soul

I've been working with clay since 2020 and it all started with one of Marina's workshops. She is a skilled and creative ceramist, a kind teacher and an inspiring human being! Also, being surrounded by the breathtaking nature of Santa Barbara makes the whole experience very immersive and even more meaningful.

Marina’s ceramics are just amazing

Awesome art from deep traditional portuguese culture! An adventure through the creative roots of azores. The raw elements that make the ocean and all nature to be represented in every single piece of art.
