I took the Goldsmithing For Beginners workshop and it was absolutely amazing! I made a ring for the first time and the whole process was fascinating. Michel is a great teacher; he helped me put together my ideas, showed me how to use different tools, and explained everything with patience. His workshop is really nice, has different tables, and is fully equipped. Looking forward to taking more workshops!

My trip to Lisbon was made even more rewarding by meeting and learning from Maria. Just being in her atelier with her artwork was inspiring. I love working with textiles, but basketry has always been intimidating. Not anymore! Maria taught me so much, more than that, she encouraged me to continue to practice and create at home. And I will! As I worked, we talked about art, artmaking, and music. She played Fado and talked about the contemporary musicians who are keeping the genre relevant. I will treasure the two creations that I brought home, but also the lovely afternoon spent with a delightful and passionate artist.

My husband Sean and I wanted something different and creative to do on our trip to Porto. He is a professional photographer, and I love experimenting with different materials. We have been wanting to try cyanotype but weren’t sure where to start. Inês’ workshop was the perfect way to learn. We met Inês in her shared studio space Raiz em Movimento, which as in itself a treat – so much creativity in one place! She then explained the history of cyanotype and the process before sharing a wonderful selection of materials to experiment with. We learned that Inês is working towards a doctorate having to do with photography, printing, and ecology. Not only were Sean and I thrilled with our projects, we were also grateful to have spent the morning with an incredible young artist who is doing her part to make the photography/printing process better for our environment. We look forward to hearing great things about her research and future art exhibitions!

I attended a workshop making my own earrings, which I enjoyed a lot. Michel is very helpful and patient and very motivating. He explains things very well and helps whenever things get too tricky. Very happy with the result. And the music in the studio is also amazing ;)

I love my ring that I made in a workshop with Michel!
Eventhough my prototype and idea was rather unconventional, Michel helped me to bring my ideas to live. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He took his time to answer all my questions and showed me in detail which tools are best for me to work with.
Time flew by and I cannot wait to book myself another workshop - it's a small treat I give myself and its super worth it! The ring is now always on my finger which is such a nice memory of a good time :)

We loved it! Paula is very sensite and truly loves what she does. We had a great time. I recomend trying. It’s very addictive ❤️

We booked this workshop for a birthday party and I don’t think we could have made a better choice. It was so much fun to cook as a group and actually make the pizza from scratch, while having Jens walk us through each step. I would wholeheartedly recommend!

Overall, such a delicate experience ;)

The workshop was wonderful! We walked through the Santa Teresa neighborhood and got to see all the art in the area.
Jean Paul is a top-notch artist—patient and very friendly. We had a really fun time. I highly recommend it.
It’s a great experience to give as a gift for birthdays or group celebrations.
Jean Paul, you can be sure that las Monis will be back for more!
