Rug Tufting Workshop 1 on 1 "Create a tufted art piece for your home in a custom size" with Gaja in Berlin, Germany

Learn how to create your own beautiful and unique rug piece of art together with Gaja in Berlin!

Before the actual Rug Tufting Workshop, you will be asked to send Gaja the design you want to create, which can be completely custom.

But keep in mind that it takes some getting used to the tufting gun. It is easier to tuft straight lines and large areas, rather than small, round and complicated shapes.

It is recommended to use simple shapes and lines, as more complicated and detailed designs are harder to execute.

Artist Gaja ensures you that your design is achievable, and if necessary, assist you in refining it to ensure its feasibility.

The maximum size of your final rug piece can be up to about 60 x 80cm.
If you want to make a rug in double the size, that is: 1.2 x 1.6m, just book two workshop slots.

*If you'd like to create a bigger rug, please let us know. Maximum size is 1.6 x 1.6m. 

The first session of the Rug Tufting Workshop consists of an introduction to the tufting technique, projecting your motive onto the canvas and tufting your piece.

When you are done, you can apply the glue, which has to dry for 24 hours.

Duration of the first session: 4-6 hours (depending on the size and complexity of your motive).

In the second session  of the Rug Tufting Workshop, you will do the last steps to finalize your rug piece of art.

You learn how to cut and apply the backing, and shear and sculpt your piece.

Duration of the second session: 2-3 hours.

About the artist:

Gaja Vičič is a multi-disciplinary artist with a diploma and background in graphic design and art direction.

Currently, she directs her creative energy toward textile art for fashion and interiors through the technique of tufting, and floral design and styling for photoshoots and events.

Her artistic expressions always draw inspiration from the aesthetic attributes of the natural world, elevating them into dreamy and fantastical realms.

Through her work, she endeavors to inspire imagination and joy, infusing a sense of magic and hope into the ordinary world.

All You Need To Know for the Rug Tufting Workshop 1 on 1 "Create a tufted art piece for your home in a custom size" with Gaja in Berlin, Germany:

Length of workshop: 8 hours (or more if needed) split into two sessions.
If you want to create a bigger piece, a third session can be scheduled for an additional price.

Number of people: 1 person
*You can also join as a pair, if you wish to collaborate and create a piece together.

Location: At the artist’s home, Innstraße, 12045 Berlin

Price per workshop: € 420 for the two 1 on 1 sessions; includes all the materials, coffee, tea, juice, snacks and homemade cookies or cake.
