Jewelry Making Workshop with Édit in Brussels, Belgium
Jewelry Making Workshop with Édit in Brussels, Belgium
Artist Édit’s "Jewelry Making Workshop" is above all a way of giving yourself a quiet moment, a simple discovery of yourself and to increase your confidence in your creative powers.
It is a kind of meditation that broadens your sense of observation. It is also an opportunity to experiment with techniques, express creativity and gain self-control. The aim is not to finish the creation, but to start it.
You are going to prepare pieces of different collections using all kinds of materials such as: Fishing wire, different beads (glass, wood, bronze, gold plated), faux leather, finishes and chains in silver or in stainless steel.
About the artist:
Édit Lakatos, artist and founder of Tulipane Design:
"Raised in the Hungarian countryside, I learned sewing, crochet and traditional bead weaving. Jewelry being my main interest, I especially liked bead weaving. This passion has always been with me.
Since I have been living in Belgium, the African style fascinates me as much as the Hungarian folk style."
With the jewelry artist's work, which manifests itself under the brand name Tulipane Design, Édit would like to offer a delicate mixture of Eastern Europe and Africa. The designs are created and woven bead by bead. It is a work of patience and a kind of meditation. The beads take time to be woven.
Through Édit's childhood trauma with an abusive father, she realized that creating is a crucial activity to find her balance and well-being and she thinks she is not alone with this.
That's why her goal is not only to share her creations with other women but also to contribute to a social impact. Tulipane Design contributes with € 1/jewel sold to the Domestic Violence Centre in Belgium.
