Meet Your Host – Araiké Da Silva
Araiké Da Silva is an Italian-Brazilian painter, photographer, and sculptor based in Berlin.
For many years, Araiké has been hosting analog photography workshops in Berlin at his studio in Wedding, sharing his passion for traditional photographic processes. He teaches participants how to develop black-and-white film and how to enlarge and print photographs using a professional darkroom.
His multidisciplinary artistic practice combines photography, painting, sculpture, and illustration. Through his workshops, Araiké creates a welcoming environment where participants can slow down, experiment, and discover the beauty of working with analog techniques.
Araiké studied illustration and comics at Genoa Comics Academy, explored figurative arts, sculpture, and philosophy at Artistic High School Paul Klee-Nicoló Barabino, and developed his knowledge of both analog and digital photography during his studies in Southampton.
He won the first prize in the illustration competition “Draw Not War” and the national competition “Photographing the Divine Comedy.”
His artistic collaborations include projects in the worlds of fashion and street art, while he continues developing his artistic career at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin.
