Learn from Maria's profound knowledge during her Textile Basketry Art Workshops in Algarve, Portimão, Portugal! 

You learn a coil basket weaving technique where you gonna sew by hand, using natural textile fibres and wool. You’re creating your unique textile basketry piece of art during one of her Textile Basket Weaving classes.

Accompanying the moment, Maria serves you welcome drinks and some typical Portuguese snacks.

About the artist:

Born in Coimbra (Portugal’s former capital!) in 1970, textile artist Maria Pratas felt that her degree in Visual Education, focused mostly on the two-dimensionality of what is observed, narrowed her need to work on a three-dimensional scale.

She always had a curiosity for raw materials and the way they can be transformed. So she dived deeper into the world of textiles and basketry art.

Had a great workshop with Maria in her studio! She is passionate about her work and so generous when it comes to share her knowledge or any information.
