ITINERARY of the Painting Workshop "The light of Sorolla" with Álex Barros in Madrid, Spain:

- INTRODUCTION: Colors, brushstrokes, light and technical aspects.

- A NEW LOOK: We learn how to look with a impressionism filter, and we will choose the model for our painting.

- LET'S START PAINTING! In the first approach to our model we will work on the light and shadows. Then, we will learn the mixtures to get our palette of colours.

- MINI BREAK: We get energized and get ready for the final work.

- THE MASTER PIECE: We use all the technique learned without forgetting the impressionist style (loaded brushstrokes and marked contrasts). The teacher will lead the students through the whole process from the big and natural first strokes to the tiny final details.

About the artist: 

Álex Barros is a young Spanish painter very much influenced by Joaquin Sorolla's work. In his pieces there is always the intention to recreate natural and luminous environments. Since 2017 Álex has always taught painting, but from 2021 his atelier became a whole new project called Dubita where the artistic and interactive environment is always present.

About the location: 

Dubita arts&people is a very special place. A cultural project founded by Beatriz Achaques and Álex Barros where different arts and crafts become the learning process of all kinds of people. The natural light, the wooden handmaded furniture, the paintings on the walls, the connected rooms, the smell of coffee... The whole Dubita experience is just good vibes.
