Hat Making Workshop "Hack a Hat" with Cati in Berlin, Germany

During her Hat Making Workshop "Hack a Hat" in Berlin, Germany, artist Cati shares her secret tips and tricks and provides you with the material, gabarits and homemade starch which are needed to shape the hats.

In 4 hours you can dive deep into the world of hats and create your own custom piece made of fancy craft paper wrap, kitchen towels, jute or tulle.

The Hat Making Workshop takes place at Cati’s private and spacious 40sqm atelier that is located on the 6th floor in the former Intelligence department of the STASI.

From her studio you have an amazing panoramic view on the old STASI jail, which runs as a museum today.

About the artist:

Cati Laporte is a French painter who also works in embroidery and ceramics. Before moving to Berlin, Cati has been living in Brazil for 10 years. It’s over there where she started “hacking her own hats“ to complement her unique carnival outfits.

Length of workshop: 4 hours

Number of people: 2-4 people

Location: At the artist's private atelier, located in the former Intelligence department of the STASI, in Hohenschönhausen, Berlin’s East Side, around the corner of beautiful Villa and art gallery Heike.

(There's a direct tram connection with M5 from Alexanderplatz that will leave you at 5 minutes walking distance from the atelier.)

Price per person: € 78; includes all materials such as fancy paper craft, tulle and kitchen towels; drinks and snacks such as tea, coffee, beer, nuts and chocolates.

Note: If you want, you can also bring your own kitchen towel or jute.
There is also a tasty empanadas shop around the corner.

Minimum advance booking time: 4 days

Next workshop dates: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 10h-14h and 14h-18h

Additional Option: In case you would like to perfect your skills, you can book a second 4 hour-workshop with Cati in the following days for € 55 per person.
