Drawing and Painting Workshop of the Alhambra with Mark and Team in Granada, Spain

In our little art studio in Granada we teach the beautiful geometric design of the Alhambra. As you may know, the Alhambra is a magnificent example of Islamic design and architecture. We offer classes every day so that visitors to Granada can learn how to make one of these incredible designs.

While we work we teach how these designs were originally created, their evolution in the world of Islamic art, techniques of geometry and watercolor painting and the underlying principles of geometric design. Our classes are a fantastic opportunity to learn about this unique cultural heritage and appreciate just how intricate and creative it can be. 

We will show you how the mosaics, patterns and art of the Alhambra were created using ruler and compass, then show you how to paint one of your very own to take home.

All levels of artistic ability and experience are welcome in our classes. We help every student each step of the way and if you know what you’re doing and want to pick up some new skills, we can run more advanced classes going into greater detail.

Classes are 3 hours of fun with lots of refreshment breaks. We focus on enjoyment and students work at their own pace while painting. Our workshop is air conditioned for summer and heated for winter, so you will feel perfectly comfortable!

About the artists:

We fell in love with studying Geometric design whilst teaching in Bangladesh over fifteen years ago. We subsequently moved to Uzbekistan and continued learning more about these captivating forms of expression, whilst living amongst some of the most incredible representations of it in the world.

We have lived in nine countries now and continued learning more in each one, eventually prompting our decision to move to Granada, Spain, and teach this art form in the home of one of its greatest examples. We love sharing these skills and we love being here!

Price per person: € 57 - includes one painting; coffee or tea.
