🎨 Day 1: Materials, Canvas Preparation & Painting Foundations

On the first day, you’ll discover the basics of preparing for a painting project.

You’ll learn:

• Which painting materials you can use and how to choose them
• Where to find and select the right materials for your artistic goals
• How to stretch a canvas (100 x 70 cm)
• How to properly prepare your canvas before painting

🎨 Day 2: Colour Theory & Creating Your Painting

The second day focuses on colour, composition, and applying paint to the canvas.

You’ll learn:

• The fundamentals of colour theory
• How to mix pigments with a binder
• The differences between acrylic and oil techniques (depending on your preference)
• How to apply colour onto the canvas
• How to begin a painting using portrait or figure as a subject

Meet Your Host – Araiké Da Silva

Araiké Da Silva is an Italian-Brazilian painter, photographer, and sculptor based in Berlin.

His multidisciplinary artistic practice combines painting, photography, sculpture, and illustration. Through his workshops, Araiké shares his passion for artistic exploration and creates an inspiring environment where participants can experiment, learn, and develop their own creative expression.

Araiké attended Genoa Comics Academy, where he studied illustration and comics. At Artistic High School Paul Klee-Nicoló Barabino, he explored figurative arts, sculpture, and philosophy, developing a deep interest in visual storytelling and artistic concepts.

He also studied in Southampton, where he expanded his knowledge of both analog and digital photography.

Araiké won the first prize in the illustration competition “Draw Not War” and the national competition “Photographing the Divine Comedy.”

His artistic collaborations include projects in both the worlds of fashion and street art. Today, he continues developing his artistic career while studying at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin.
