"From client request to final design" Editorial Illustration Workshop in Berlin, Germany

Julia Praschma lives and works as a freelance illustrator and designer in Berlin. Originally from the Ruhr area, she learned to fill the world around her - also through her illustrations - with color and positivity.

She sees herself as a hippie clown punk barbie who loves to share resources, ideas and sometimes her lunch. Spreading good vibes is her profession. Many years of yoga and meditation practice help her to be calm and to stay present. But she also feels very comfortable in the midst of hustle and bustle, deadlines and mosh pits. All these opposites are reflected in her work, which is characterized by a variety of themes, luminous colors and wild compositions.

She has been in the creative industry for over 10 years and is represented by an artist management. Her customers come from areas such as Editorial and Branding. These include Cosmopolitan, Brigitte, Der Spiegel and Die Zeit.

In her "From client request to final design" Editorial Illustration Workshops, Julia shows you how to design an Editorial Illustration.
From customer request including briefing material, over the development of an idea and the creation of sketches, up to the finished draft with a final presentation.

The aim is to learn how to professionally deal with a project and give you methods and security for the next job. The workshop is divided into two units:

- Day 1 (3 hours): Briefing, Brainstorming, Sketches.
The design is then implemented at home.

- Day 2 (3 hrs): Presentation and Discussion of the drafts, Finalization with mock up.

At the end of the workshop you will have created a final Editorial Illustration that you can use for your portfolio. In addition, Julia is happy to answer all your questions about the work as a freelance illustrator and designer, working with artist management, or her own career path.

Basic knowledge of Photoshop is required to participate in the workshop.
It is advisable to bring a laptop (plus graphics tablet) with you.

Length of workshop:
- Day 1: 3 hours
- Day 2: 3 hours
Number of people: 1 - 5 people
Location: At Julia's art studio in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
Price per person: €130; includes the provision of a digital mockup, snacks, tea and water.
