1. What’s the art you’re doing?

My main artistic activity is tattooing. I like to focus on the individual parts of the body and adapt the motifs specifically so that body and tattoo become one. These are abstract shapes, mostly like gentle vibrations, which I execute as delicate lines or shades.

2. How did you find your way into your art?

I started drawing at an early age and painting with acrylics when I was a teenager. I got my first tattoo at the age of 19 and over time it became a passion. While I was studying interior design, the idea of starting tattooing arose and I quickly became very fond of it.

3. What is the reason why you keep doing your art?

I love spreading my art to a wide variety of people. The thought that subjects of mine could be walking around anywhere in the world puts a smile on my face. You also create something that will outlive you. Also an exciting thought for me personally.

4. What do you do when you feel stuck?

I go for a long walk or run. Listen to music that touches me. If I get stuck in the design process, I let it rest for a while. That does a lot. The iterative process in developing a motif can be crucial. Sometimes it works intuitively and straight away - sometimes you have to look at it again and again and optimize it.

5. How do you deal with setbacks?

In the past, setbacks have bothered me and brought me down for a long time. However, it's probably a common phrase, but today I know that setbacks only make me stronger and I realize what I can overcome and then grow from. It is the deep valleys we walk through and the mountains we climb that define us all.

6. What is your personal highlight during your whole time working as an artist?

There is not a personal highlight for me. There are some works that, looking back, I am perhaps particularly proud of or that I really like. Then I like to remember the appointment, the customer and what happened that day.

7. When do you feel most productive?

When I am at peace with myself. If I sleep enough, keep myself fit - physically and mentally. I have to consistently work on myself in a self-reflective manner in order to become one with myself and my actions. I can actually design best in the evening hours. Unfortunately, this sometimes conflicts with my desired sleep hygiene.

8. What inspires you the most?

Nature, good music and the human body itself. Many forms are already given in a way. Sometimes it can be exciting to break this open.

9. Do you have a vision or goal you are working towards?

Not specifically, because I've noticed that most situations arise by chance. You're always at crossroads in life - both professionally and privately. You have to make decisions there. When your professional life merges with a personal passion, it becomes even more complex and you have to be careful not to become too overwhelmed by goals or visions that are too strict.

10. For you personally, what is a life well lived?

I would like to be able to live my life as far as possible free from social constraints. I like to be able to make decisions about my life on my own initiative and be self-determined. It is a given that we have to earn money to be able to finance our living. But I don't want to chase money, I want to work because I mostly enjoy it and don't look for happiness in money, but in experiencing moments.

11. What is your favorite feeling?

This is a hard question. I think I strive for serenity, if that could be described as an emotional state.

12. What feeling do you like the least?

Fear. It is an essential instinct of us humans. In dangerous situations, it can save our lives, but when it gets out of hand in everyday situations, it becomes an obstacle. I would rather have a feeling of necessary respect than fear.

13. What are you most afraid of?

I try not to call it fear, as I just described. But if you will, I have a lot of respect for losing control of my body and my thoughts. By this I mean, among other things, diseases that you can't do anything about and you are exposed to fate. I suspect the thought of that scares most people. However, I can get quite lost in it in less good times.

14. Your favorite guilty pleasure?

Enjoy good food or enjoy the day with close friends in the beautiful sunshine. I love it when evenings with friends arise spontaneously out of the situation, without much planning. If you just let your mood take you. It may seem strange to list this as a favorite guilty pleasure, but I also really like when I massage myself with my foam roller or ball and feel that it makes me feel better in the long term.
